Bast has been reduced, at best, to a minor god. Bast is also a prisoner in the museum. She lives with the Egyptian art exhibit, which has made her very lonely. She manages to escape by becoming a familiar figure for the MC. It will be hard to explain what she does when she returns home.
The Mother (MC) is experiencing difficulties at work and home. His wife is no longer interested in him, and their love lives have become non-existent. His boss is extremely dangerous. While he happens to be a bookie working for Kingfisher, he is also a dumbass who has been skimming through the books. It is something he will have to pay for soon. His new debt will be paid by his wife (and his (Daughters) in his place). It is up to the MC whether he becomes the new Alpha or let his (Mother), deal with it.
